Cantare is a unique and 'different' piece of gear, and came about from many requests from our clients who want some kind of tone control unit to allow them to make tonal adjustments, since the gear they have do not provide any tone control/EQ ability.

In order to keep the Cantare relatively small, we decided to stick with three tone controls, Treble, Mid and Bass. These controls being mostly what home stereo setups use or need.

Cantare uses a hybrid circuit, with the Baxandall tone controls using the OPA2134 ultra low noise Op-Amp together with resistors and capacitor for the frequency shaping, followed by 6922/E88CC output buffers.

We decided on using Op-Amps to, again, keep the size and complexity in check and to not end up with a physically large piece of gear using many tubes. Doing this might be fine for a studio/pro setup, but not really for a home stereo setup.

Cantare does its job excellently and is super quiet to boot!

All three tone controls do their job really well, one set for the right and one set for the left channel, with a tone defeat switch to be able to completely bypass the tone controls.

Cantare is installed between a preamp and power amp, or can be installed between any line level music source and a preamp or amp.

As with all our gear, only high quality name brand parts are used, as well as the LL3737 Lundahl power transformer, which is custom made for us by Lundahl. This same power transformer is also used in our very popular models Aretha LT, Statera and Callisto.

You do get a choice of wood type for the chassis as well as a choice of plate colors, please inquire regarding the type of wood and plate colors that are available.

Cantare is made to order and will take around 6 weeks or so to build.
