The design of this EQ was inspired by the classic Blonder Tongue Audio Baton B-9 EQ of the late 50's, with 9 octaves per channel, EQ bypass and attenuator.
The frequencies are 40Hz, 80Hz, 150Hz, 300Hz, 600Hz, 1.25KHz, 2.50KHz, 5.00KHz and 10.00KHz.
For each channel, Natalie uses five 12AX7 tubes in the EQ circuit plus a 6X4 rectifier tube in the power supply.
All EQ components are mounted on one single pcb per channel and powered by our own designed custom made power transformer by Heyboer Transformers.
Housed in an all metal 3U high Hammond RMC series chassis or an optional custom made anodized aluminum chassis, Natalie can be built with or without rack mounting brackets or holes.
Natalies performance is outstanding and will add to any serious system setup where fine tuning is desired.
Natalie is a perfect addition to a home stereo system or in a recording studio. It is designed to be predominantly used with other tube gear, that is, tube preamp and power amp, but may also be suitable with solid state gear.
If you plan to use Natalie with a solid state preamp and power amp, please let us know the input and output impedances of your solid state gear, thank you.
If you prefer to have a mono version of Natalie, we can also build that for you. This version is only available in the Hammond RMC series chassis, see drawing at bottom of page.
Please contact us for pricing and other details for a mono version of Natalie.
Natalie can be built with XLR balanced in and outputs using four of the superb Lundahl LL1544A Audio Transformers, one for each channel in and output.
This version will have NO RCA in and outputs!
Natalie is build to order.
